Great food, reasonably price, lovely setting, sadly people poison the 33 meter (100 foot) Koi pond with crispy noodle and fortune cookie. I would like to suggest a candy machine filled with fish food.

I am so sad that our order was NOT extraordinarily amazing. Usually, we are very pleased with the quality, quantity & freshness of everything we order. The peppered shrimp entree was barely a shrimp dish having only a few pieces of shrimp. The majority of the shrimp dish was green onion tops that were too tuff to chew. Spring rolls are one of our favorites and they were awful - I don't know if the cooking oil was bad or if the rolls had just been left sitting in oil all day. I sure hope this isn't the new normal 😢

this is the worst place in Abilene Texas to come and eat you have you have no service they do not put your orders in for an hour after you get there and then they expect you to wait when you're supposed to be at work I will not return

This place ia good but I didnt like the fact of the person who took my order by phone lied told me over the phone payments hvnt happened in two years whn I ordered by phone and paid less then a month ago. So this may keep me from ordering in the future just tell the truth people its not hard. Im sorry ma'am we no longer accept payment over the phone wouldve been PERFECTLY ok I really miss the city convenience delivery n pay by phone pickup service really shows how far behind Abilene truly is but the prices arent

Hello. Szechuan has been my favourite Chinese restaurant ever since you were in your little place down the street. Yesterday I ordered General Tsu's Chicken and was very disappointed in it. It was soggy, whereas it used to always be crispy, like a shell underneath that wonderful sweet sauce. Also, it was lacking in flavour, didn't have that "zing" that I am accustomed to. What happened? Did you change your recipe, or your chef? I hope this was a one time mistake, and that you haven't changed anything!Thank you,Albert

Our standard asian food place was out of our favorite, so we decided to hop on over and try this one. The service was great, though it was late and we were the only ones there. The food was fast, and very good. We got the crab angels, beef wontons, wonton soup, seasame chicken and the mongolian beef. All were very good!It isn't the best chinese ever, but when you are eating chinese and you are picky, sometimes good turns out GREAT!

The Szechuan shrimp is amazing! I really don't like how my carry out dinner order doesn't come with soup or an egg roll... and 13$ at that... I don't know why you stopped including those things with your carry-outs. Overall though I love szechuans.

We recently moved to Abilene for the military and are at several other Chinese restaurants and were disappointed. We figured we would give Szechuan a try. It was AMAZING!!!! I had the sesame chicken and my wire had the chicken fried rice. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. We will defiantly be going back soon. -Ryan and Brittany

The ingredients are always fresh. I have beenm eating here for over 10 years and NEVER had a bad meal. Byron does use MSG in some dishes but if you tell the server no MSG he makes sure to leave it out. Everything is made to order to customer specifications.

My coleagues and I come to you rrestaurant often. Enjoy the food greatly during the Lunch hour. There is one thing I do not understand and would like to know why this is the case. You rlunch specials come with rice and an egg roll. If you were to purchase the soup and egg roll separated the soup is more expensive than the egg roll, but when I ask to sustitue the soup for another egg roll instead, they tell me they are not allowed. Any reason for this? Thank you

My family has been enjoying Szechuan Restaurant for years. We remember standing in line at the tiny little restaurant when you were where Anns is now. It was always worth the wait. We love your food. None other even begins to compair. My favorite is the Orange peel beef and my husband always gets the spicy beef and chicken. Good food, good atmosphere and great wait staff. Keep up the good work.

MSG can be left out of all entrees. Szechuan is an amazing Chinese restaurant. Szechaun's has a large menu with creative and consistent chinese cuisine. Szechaun can prepare their food to accommodate its guests. They are able to leave unwanted vegetables out of your entrée and even substitute a more desired vegetable in its place. Szechaun can even leave MSG out of the food! However, the soups and fried rice have just a little bit of msg which is unable to be removed because it is made in large quantities. Beef, chicken, pork, vegetable, and shrimp fried rice is able to be made without msg because it is made fresh to order. The majority of Szechaun's entrées are extremely healthy for you. Of course the sweet and sour chicken pork shrimp are not the healthiest of choices. Szechuan is the place for you if you want no MSG, healthy food, and amazing service. The servers are personable and polite as well as attentive. If your in Abilene I recommend Szechuan Chinese Restaurant. You will not be sorry.

I ordered orange chicken on 25 Nov at 6:15pm for a pick up. I wanted to get traditional orange chicken, instead I got deep-fried chicken. When I called to correct the order, I was told that there were two different types of orange chicken (none of which is mentioned on your online menu). When I called to rectify the issue, I was passed off by the initial hostess (who was kind) with the head hostess who indicated that I had specifically order traditional orange chicken, which I had not received. Additionally, she spoke to me as if I had always ordered there. This is the second, and last, time I will ever eat at Szechuan. Her customer service skills indicated that I did not know how to order. Next time, when a customer orders orange chicken, you may want to indicate whether or not there are two different types of orange chicken as the hostess was adamant that there was.

The restaurant location is really good. Byron your food is like YUMMY, DELIGHTFUL, AWESOME!!!!!!!! We love your food. My son and daughter always eat the kun pow chicken. We have our own fish, and we bring some fish food all the time we come and we feed it to your fish. Sometimes we see the BIG fish come out and eat. Three word to describe your BIG fish: COLORFUL, PRETTY, BIG. All the time when we rate we give you 5 stars 5 stars 5 stars 5 stars 5 stars. Hope you get another trophy. we love your food so much. sometimes we come to abilene just to come eat your food. we love the lake, and the big fish are SO pretty. we sometimes come and put some fish in the lake. we love all kinds off your foods. and the employees work REALLY hard on their work. we always call Reggie. and the windows have REALLY pretty pictures on them.

Love the food,atmoshpere,and the service.We have eaten here several times now. Everything has been wonderful each time.The food is reasonably priced and the lunch specials are excellent. There is a large variety to choose from which makes it hard to decide. We have never tried anything we didn't like. We will continue to eat here.

Visited AGAIN yesterday with my family. Excellent food, great service, wonderful people. The owner and his family have become great friends since we started eating with them at their old (tiny) place. The new restaurant is exquisite. The building inside and outside is most pleasing. The food is the same as it was in the tiny place....out of this world! Never have received a bad meal, and we have had PLENTY of meals there over the years.

We recently ate at Szechuan for the first time. We were very pleased with our experience. Our waiter Reggie was the best we have ever encounter at any restaurant, he was very personable and had extensive knowledge of all the items on the menu. We were also approached by the manager at our table welcoming us for our first visit. We will be going back very often, the food was excellent, and the prices were great for the amount of food you get.

We recently moved to Abilene after moving from Houston when my husband retired. We went to MANY Chinese restaurants until a woman I met at church took me to Szechuan's. Until then, I had become accustomed to mediocre Chinese and overall, just a lesser quality than what we had come to expect in Houston. Additionally, we had not been able to find good, fresh seafood which was terribly disappointing to us. Until THAT DAY when we went to Szechuan's....WOW - what an overall delightful, enjoyable experience awaited us there. As a former Houstonian (and with numerous Chinese restaurants to choose from in Houston), Szechuan's BY FAR goes above and beyond a wonderful dining experience. The service is great, the food is better and most of all, this restaurant will be a delight and quite a "find" in Abilene!

@ jimarzigian, they use MSG on most of the dish but you could also request for NO MSG. They prepare everthing fresh and great quality, trust me i eat there alot ;)

We like this restaurant for many reasons. One of the reasons is because of the service we get. We ask for Reggie every time and have found him to be excellent. He pays careful attention, even when working several tables and works to remember our regular orders. This evening, he had our drinks ready right away and brought them to us when he first came to greet us. Reggie makes my husband and I look forward to coming back even if we just left.
Szechuan is a delight to the eyes as well as the palate. Servers are very accomodating, make great suggestions, and are not overly helpful. The food is always awesome with generous portions. No buffet, but the food is consistently hot, fresh, and on point. My favs: Oolong and jasmine hot tea, egg rolls, wonton soup, the huge platter of Shrimp with broccoli and glazed walnuts; tender Mandarin Beef; spicy Kung pao chicken; Happy Family; and the Sizzling soup for 2, full of tender seafood and a rich chicken stock served with rice sizzling from a hot skillet into your bowls...omg, the aroma! And the chef will do special requests.

First of all this place is amazing. My two aunts and I were traveling between Odessa & Dallas with their two dogs. They had stopped here to eat with their dogs just a few weeks earlier and wanted to share the experience with me. We laid out blankets under the two beautiful trees near the pond so we could sit and relax with the dogs and then went inside to order. We went back out and the fabulous food was brought out to us by Byron (the owner) and Cesar (his right hand man) along with REAL (not paper) plates, REAL silverware and napkins and all the accompaniments. They checked on us several times, refilled our drinks and basically treated us like royalty. It was like we were sitting inside....the weather was beautiful but the food and service and surroundings were even better. Every trip to or through Abilene will include a stop at Szechuan. The owners have worked very hard to expand into an elegant restaurant that can accommodate all of their fans. Every last detail has been well thought to make for a memorable experience. We love to take out of town family and friends there and to recommend Szechuan's to everyone that enjoys Chinese food. It was a long wait for the new place to open - but well worth it! We wish the Huang Family only success and happiness!
